Top Team offsites: our learning with a client

We asked ourselves: What can we share from our work that might be helpful for our community? Here's one answer.

In preparation for one of the Top Team offsites we facilitated this quarter, we uncovered an important issue that was hindering the team's ability to establish stronger cohesion and trust, crucial for shaping their shared future. Despite their impressive accomplishments, we discovered that unacknowledged business successes, personal difficulties, and perceived external challenges were causing a certain felt sense of isolation among team members and impeding their joint progress.

To address this, among other activities, we encouraged the team to openly share their personal highlights and struggles, as well as those of the team. The resulting dialogue fostered a deeper sense of empathy, facilitated the emergence of new collective narratives and meanings, and nurtured an appreciation for each team member's individual and collective journey.

In the end, they shared this transformative process opened up new possibilities for them to make progress together and face the challenges that lie ahead with renewed energy and mutual support.

It’s been a great honour and joy to support a team that continuously strives to make such a difference in people’s lives.
